In his time on Wall Street as an institutional investment manager, Alex worked for some of the largest financial firms across the world. That included ING Barings in New York, Banco Santander in London and Madrid, and BNP Paribas in London, NY, and Paris. Alex specialized in bonds, currencies, structured securities, and global macroeconomics.
Alex has been a portfolio manager for emerging market government bonds and currencies, a head of research, head of product development, chief investment officer, and was the chief operating officer for the FFTW/BNP Paribas investment team.
Since turning to investment writing full time, Alex has written whitepapers, blog posts, investment commentary, and a variety of marketing materials for such firms as Nuveen, BNP Paribas, Janus Henderson, Franklin Templeton, Loomis Sayles, and Thrivent Asset Management (where he met Gene).
